![]() ![]() May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm wondering if this could be the case with my unit? If the pressure is too high it'd seem that maybe it's not allowing enough fuel flow back through the return line to properly cool the unit thus causing vapor lock when going slow with less airflow around the Sniper? Has anyone seen this high fuel pressure issue in the earlier models? I ordered an inline fuel pressure gauge to look at this possibility as a "maybe" related issue? I read early Snipers had an improperly designed fuel pressure regulator cover, which often caused excessive fuel pressure significantly above the 58.5 psi pressure which it should be constantly running. What would the fuel pressure reading be, which I should expect on the pressure feed line? Also, when the pump is running, even with the engine off, what volume of fuel would I expect to see returning to the tank through the return line to the tank? ![]() It has never occured when at road speeds. The problem only occurs when I am at a crawling speed. The lines are a distance from the exhaust and they are well insulated. The fuel tank on the Jeep is completely vented. The return line is 5/16" and also goes directly to the tank. The pump is directly under the tank and is fed with a 3/8" line to the EFI and it's a short run from the pump to the injection unit (4 feet). I have the fuel pressure line and in-line fuel filter wrapped in insulation where it enters the engine area. The engine runs cool (185☏ steady), outside temps are cool (75☏ to 80☏. I have to let the Jeep cool and for 15 or 20 minutes and then it will restart, and it will run fine. When turning on the key, I can hear vapor bubbles blowing into the fuel tank. The engine will surge and die and will not restart until it cools. This occurs occasionally when at crawling speeds. The issue which is higher on the list is an apparent vapor lock. I have and continue to have multiple issues. I cannot say this has been a good experience. The Jeep has only been used probably 3 or 4 times since the EFI was installed. I have an early Sniper EFI installed in a Jeep with a Ford 302.
